tassels, sparklers and birthdays

Happy Valentines Day, loves!

Tonight I will be babysitting. Haven’t you heard? It’s what all the cool, single girls are doing for Valentine’s Day. I have no doubt the night will be filled with decorating cupcakes, eating pink frosting straight out of the container and a game of princess and evil queen (guess who’s always the evil queen). Oh how I love those little girls.

My sister and I decided to have our own Valentine’s celebration Saturday and I can’t wait for our movie date to see “Endless Love.” This week was her 27th birthday! I was ecstatic when I found a DIY tissue paper tassel garland tutorial on Pinterest (check it out here). I loved the final outcome and I think the birthday girl loved it just as much!

I secretly couldn’t wait until the end of the day, when it was time for dessert. I purchased a gold heart sparkler for her dessert topper (from here) and was so excited to see Laur’s reaction. We brought out a slice of strawberry cheesecake and watched the sparks fly! As Fourth of July is her favorite holiday, you can imagine her excitement. Better yet, check out the video below and see for yourself.

Hope your birthday was all you hoped for, Lauren Ashley! xoxo
